Dungeon Explorer for Wii VC is finally released 1/8/07
The long awaited Turbo Grafix 16 title has finally made its way to Nintendo Wii’s virtual console. This game was supposed to be released to the VC on 1/1/07, its pretty good that they got it only took one week to complete the bug fixes. Dungeon Explorer was originally released in 1989 by Hudson Entertainment and is the predecessor to games such as Baldurs gate. This is an action RPG that contains all the similar characteristics, such as increasing statistics, finding and using various equipment and has 8 different playable characters, each with thier own abilities. This VC title is only 600 Wii points to download and has multiplayer support for up to 4 players. I have never played this title before, but from the screen shots it reminds me of a more advance gautlet style game. You can read more and view screen shots HERE on Hudson Entertainment’s webiste.
Other VC titles released yesterday were:
Gradius (500 Wii points, 1-2 players, orig. released on the NES)
Soldier Blade (600 Wii points, 1 player, orig. released on Turbo Grafix 16)
