Is the Wii Making a Difference to Nintendo’s Stock Value?

We all know that the Wii sales have been stellar compared to that of Sony’s PS3. Has all the hype helped Nintendo’s stock value? You can obviously see the difference on the chart below. The hype is stil huge around the Nintendo Wii and I can make a safe honest bet that the stock price will continue to increase.

** Edit if you do not see the chart, I am working on it. For some reason it does not want to show unless is on the first page of my blog. Im still waiting for the scriptor to get back with me.

Check your local Target Ads

This weeks Target advertisment has The Legend of Zelda Twighlight Princess for 20% off or $39.99. The ad is good from 12/26/06 - 12/30/06. This is a great title for the Wii and should be in everyone’s collection. The special price is for in store only and is not valid for online orders. Im only about 12 hours into Zelda, but is a very cool game and the wife diggs it too.

Nintendo Wii – Internet Channel Bang or Bust?

opera.jpg

Like most Wii owners, I ran home after work on the 22nd to update and install the new release of the beta version of the opera browser for my Wii. At a first glance I was not impressed with look of the browser and other websites I visited, this is primarily due to not having high definition cables hooked up. Some websites I had trouble accessing, one of my wife’s favorite sites is pogo.com powered by EA and our Wii would not let us access any games from pogo, which partially defeats the purpose of having web browser.

Now here is the million dollar question: If you have WiFi already (needed to use the Wii browser), you most likely have a computer (with a keyboard) to access the internet, why would you use your Wii to browse the internet? The onscreen keyboard is a joke and takes way too much time to enter in a URL, sending an email or making a forum post would just be a complete waste of time. Ding, Ding, a wireless keyboard for your Wii yet another marketable product that Nintendo can put their name on and sell to the masses, why? What is the point? Unless they create some super special features to entice owners to use the Wii for internet purposes, go ahead and use your computer to browse/access the internet. You will save yourself some time. The internet channel gets a solid, thumbs down from me.
